Ramp up the Red Day All of the Children had a fantastic day on Friday the 9th of February, taking part in Ramp Up The Red Day, it was full of fun, excitement and exercise and all in aid of an excellent charity. Thanks to pupils, parents and staff we raised £90 for Mary’s Meals and launched our Healthy Eating Policy.

Shared Education

As part of the P.5-7 Shared Education Programme we will continue to focus on important Road Safety Messages. On Wednesday 21st of March, all of the children P.1-P.7 will participate in a PSNI presentation about key Road Safety messages for children. On Wednesday the 14th of March the Translink Education bus will be on hand to further engage and educate the children in a fun and interactive way about safety on buses.

During the month, some of the older children in the school will get the chance to participate in a road safety workshop highlighting the dangers of speeding. During this programme some of the children will form a panel to speak to members of the public who have been stopped by Police for exceeding the speed restriction. The Drivers will be invited to account for their actions in front of the prepared panel of children. This is an exciting and new initiative by the PSNI to get drivers to reduce speeds, especially outside of schools.
