Welcome back everyone to another new School Year. We hope you all had a very relaxed summer.
We give a very special welcome to our new Reception and P1 pupils; Otis Bannon-Carson, Maria Clifford, Melisa-Rose Curran, Eimíle Donnelly, Thomas Fitzpatrick, Finn Green, Aoife Hanna, Brigid Ingram, Bailey Jephcote, Kevin Maguire, Dáire McCann, Barry Óg McManus, Freya Mulligan, Seth Nixon-King, Evie O’Reilly, Mícheál Prunty, Jamie Rice, Matilda Sebastian, Pearce Traynor and Lucia Trotter. Welcome also to Rory and Emily Jordan, Mia, Aodhán and Amiée Trimble-Callaghan, Aoife and Caite-Rose McGrory. We wish you all much happiness in St. Mary’s Primary School.
We would also like to give a warm welcome to our new members of staff, Miss Charlene Murray covering Mrs. Cassidy’s class and our new classroom assistant Mrs Debbie Crawford who will be covering Diane’s maternity leave.
The school will be closed on Monday the 24th of September for Staff Development. The full holiday list for this academic year is downloadable from the school website or on request from the office.
It is very important that the school have your up to date mobile number and address. If you have changed your mobile number please inform the office as soon as possible.
The School day begins with class at 9.10am, please ensure your child is in school before this time. Children should not arrive at school before 8.45am. Break Time is from 11 – 11.15am and Lunch is from 12.30 to 1.15pm. The school day ends at 2pm for P.2’s and 3pm for P.3 -7.
The P.1 day will end at 12pm, however from Monday the 10th September the P.1 day will end at 2pm.
Reception children’s day will end for the whole year at 12pm.
We would like to praise all parents in their efforts to have their children so wonderfully attired in their new school uniform. It has been a lengthy process which has taken patience and plenty of good will on the part of parents and staff but the end result has been well worth it. Thank you.
Please ensure your child’s uniform including spare uniforms are clearly labelled.
If your child is absent, please contact the school on the first morning of absence. It is also important that your child brings in a signed note to explain their absence on their return to school.
Please take note that if a child is required to leave early or start later for a specific reason an explanation is required and teachers are required to record this absence.
School Meals cost £2.60 per day or £15 per week to be paid at the beginning of the week please.

If you think you are eligible for Free School Meals, please ensure you complete an application form which is available from the school office or the EA website.
Snack – Primary 1 and 2 Pupils
The cost weekly is £1.50 or for this term is £22:00 or for the year is £53:00.
The cost for Term 1 -£14, Term 2 - £13.80, Term 3 - £8 or £35.80 for the year.
Foundation Fun will commence on Monday 3rd September for P.2 children and Monday 10th September for all P.1 and P.2 pupils. For all children the cost is £2 per child per day. Any profit made from this after school provision will be specifically used to purchase resources for the Foundation Stage.
After School Club
Homework Club: for P.7 pupils on Tuesdays and Thursdays commencing Thursday 6th September from 3:15 to 4:30pm. This club is only for those children who intend to do the Transfer Test.

Parent Teacher Meetings
We would like to inform parents at this early stage that Parent Teaching Meetings will take place after school during the week commencing 22nd and 29th October. Teachers will send out a note at the beginning of October detailing the exact time of your meeting, teachers will be flexible to change however we would ask you to try your best to keep the appointment you are given.
The school will be travelling to the Opera House in Belfast to see ‘Jack & The Beanstalk’ in Pantomime on Tuesday 11th December. This year the P.3-7 children will be attending along with appropriate numbers of staff to supervise. On Monday 10th Dec or shortly afterwards we will bring the P.1 and P.2 children to the cinema in Enniskillen. The cost of the panto trip per pupil is £15 and to be paid in the school office by the first week in October.
School Council /Eco Council
During the end of September each class will be holding elections for the School and Eco Councils.
More details to follow later in the month regarding our Shared Education Programme, feedback from Parent Questionnaires, SUSTRANS Eco- Programme and new initiatives we will be involved in this year.
