School Closures: The school will close on Thursday 18th April at 12pm for the Easter holidays and will reopen on Monday 29th April.


The School Holiday list for 2019-2020 is available from the office on request. We are not issuing the dates to all parents yet to avoid confusion with this year’s dates.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

During this weekend of 30th and 31st of March at all masses in the parish you will have an opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Everyone is welcome and a special welcome if you have been away from the Sacrament for sometime.

Important Dates in the 3rd Term.

Leaver’s Assembly: Friday 21st June.

Sport’s Day: A good day during the week beginning 3rd June.

End of Year Tests: Week beginning 13th of May to be completed over 2 weeks.


Swimming Programme

The P.5 – P.7 swimming programme concludes on Tuesday the 9th of April.


Fivemiletown Netball and Soccer Tournament

The second and final day of this competition will take place on Thursday the 11th of April 10am-12.15pm in Fivemiletown College. At the half way stage both our soccer and netball teams are unbeaten.


There will be only one Spanish Afterschool Classes during the month of April it will be on Wednesday the 9th of April. Spanish Classes will resume on Wednesday the 1st of May.

After School Homework Club for P.6’s continues on Thursdays.

SUSTRANS-Active Travel To School

The SUSTRANS Active Travel to school continues on until Friday the 5th of April. Children are encouraged to go to the St. Mary’s Church Carpark were we will walk together to school.


Big Spring Clean

As part of our ongoing Eco Initiatives the children will be taking part in the Big Spring Clean on Friday the 12th of April. This is a national initiative which brings attention to keeping our locality clean. The children will be out doing a big clean up of their school and some of the older children will be in the village picking up litter too.

Watch out for some exciting additions to the school environment this Spring including Tractor Tyre Flower beds and a Bug Hotel.

RE Visit

We look forward to welcome Fr. John Flanagan who will be visiting the school on Thursday the 4th of April to chat to the children and look at all their wonderful work in they have done in Religion.


Work Experience

On behalf of the whole school community we would like to wish, Kaila Mc Manus (P.1), Hannah Mc Cusker (P.3&4) and Bregeen Murray (P.5) the very best in their studies and thank them for their enthusiasm and hard work during their time here in St. Mary’s. Their placement ends on Friday the 5th of April.

Confirmation Dates

Lough Derg Retreat – As part of the children’s Confirmation Preparations this year the P.7 class will be attending a one day retreat in Lough Derg on Wednesday the 10th of April. We would like to thank Canon Jimmy and the Parish for facilitating the trip.

Holy Thursday Mass  - The Confirmation Class will be attending Monaghan Cathedral to attend mass celebrated by Bishop Larry Duffy on Holy Thursday the 18th of April. If you are available to help with transport to this event please contact Mr. Prunty. We will leave at 9.45am and return 3pm approximately, children get treated to Mc Donald’s.

Service of LightThursday the 2nd of May at 7.30pm in Holy Cross Church Lisnaksea.

Easter Raffle

An Easter Raffle will take place on Wednesday 17th April in school. Tickets cost 30p each or 5 for £1:00. All money raised will go to our school Charity this year, Water Aid.


Gaelic Games

The P6 and P.7 children will take part in a Go Games Blitz on Wednesday 3rd April in Brewster Park Enniskillen. The Blitz will run from 10.15am to 12.15pm. The children will back for lunch in school. Children will need water bottle, gum shield and football boots if they have any.


Feis Fhearmanach 2018

The Fermanagh Feis takes place during the month of April. If your child has not received a competitor’s card please contact the school. Good luck to all the children who are taking part. We would prefer if the children wear their school uniform when performing their verse on stage.


World Book Day

Well done to everyone who dressed up for the World Book Day. Everyone made a tremendous effort and looked fantastic. We would like to thank you the parents for your support. Congratulations to the following who received prizes: Best dressed in the following classes:
