‘Buddy System’ Initiative

Many thanks to our School Council children who updated us this morning on our new ‘School Buddy’ system. The Buddy System is a new initiative where four P.6/P.7 children have been chosen to be a safe place for any children outside who are upset about something that may have happened at play time. These buddies will wear hats so they stand out in the yard. Of course children are always encouraged to go to an adult but they also now have the opportunity to talk about their problems and share it with a peer too! The children’s happiness is at the forefront of all we do and we hope this new system allows St.Mary’s to continue to be a place of joy and contentment for all of our wonderful children 😁
