As part of their topic Material World Primary 6 are taking part in the Wheelie Big Challenge 2024/25 which challenges children to tackle the issues of plastic, paper, and food waste at school and at home by reducing, recycling, and composting. Children took part in a workshop with Ben from Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful which highlighted the importance of the 5 Rs – Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair and Recycle and the importance of waste reduction. They completed a guided waste audit to take a close look at what happens to waste in our school and take practical action to improve things.
